Quartz Watches for Women
Quartz Watches for Women
Quartz watches, in other words, battery-powered watches are a type of watch that entered our lives after the industrial revolution. Unlike a mechanical clock, it gets its energy from the battery. Women quartz watches technology is divided into 3 within itself. These are battery powered, solar powered and kinetic quartz clocks. The working principle of all 3 technologies is the same and the watch works with a battery.
What is a Quartz Watch?
Unlike mechanical watches, quartz watches, as we said before, work on battery power. This battery conducts a tiny electrical current inside the watch. As you may remember, everything happens in an analogous way in mechanical watches and the wheels are rotated by the balance wheel, which acts as a pendulum. In these watches, it is entirely up to the battery and quartz stone. In fact, it gets its name from quartz for this reason.
We can say that quartz watches, which you can easily use for a few years without changing the battery of the watch, are much more accurate than watches with pendulum and balance wheels because quartz is more precise, more accurate and perfect compared to mechanical watches that can sometimes display different hours even due to gravity. Although the wheel system that counts seconds, minutes and hours has basic clock elements such as hour and minute hands, the movement of the wheels is realized with a small quartz crystal. In this way, external factors such as gravity do not cause deviation in the hour.
Quartz Watch Features
Normal battery powered watches are the most basic of these 3 technologies. Because quartz watches for women, can’ be recharged and every few years the battery of the watch needs to be changed. On the other hand, solar-powered quartz watches and kinetic quartz watches have a much longer life since they are rechargeable even though they are battery-powered.
Solar clocks need sunlight to charge the battery, while kinetic clocks use a rotor to charge the battery. In fact, the working principle of quartz watches using kinetic technology is similar to automatic watches. The only difference is that automatic watches work only while they are used, while kinetic watches continue to work thanks to their charged battery when not in use.
What Are Quartz Watch Parts?

Types of Quartz Watches
- Battery Watches
Battery powered watches are the most widely used type of quartz watch. The battery sends electricity through the electrical circuit to the quartz crystal. The quartz crystal oscillates back and forth and generates pulses from the vibrations that occur. These pulses occur 1 time per second. On average, watches using battery-powered mechanisms need to change the battery every few years. However, some batteries last much longer. The basic things that determine the life of the battery are primarily the quality of the battery and how many features your watch has.
- Solar Powered Watches
Solar powered clocks, also known as economical battery clocks, are becoming more and more common day by day. Watches powered by solar energy have a solar panel located under the dial. When the light hits the dial, the solar panel underneath converts this light into electricity. The converted energy keeps the clock running by charging the battery. While some watches are charged only with light from the sun, some models can also store electricity from artificial light. The battery life of watches powered by solar energy varies between 15 and 20 years on average. When fully charged, it can continue to work for up to 6 months without any light. Some watches that use solar energy offer a saving mode, so they don't waste much energy and can last up to 7 years without getting light.
- Kinetic Watches
Kinetic watches are the most advanced among 3 different quartz watches. Kinetic watches generate energy from the user's movements. Inside the watch is a very precise rotor. Every time the user swings his arm, moves it, even small movements. In general, kinetic watches are the most special among quartz watches. The only handicap of this technology is that kinetic clocks require frequent use. The batteries of kinetic watches that are not used frequently can run out prematurely if they are not charged. You can eliminate this problem by using an hour at least every 2-3 days.
How Do Quartz Watches Work?
These watches are battery operated and use very little electricity, so it usually takes at least a few years to replace the battery. In addition, they are much more accurate than pendulum clocks. Quartz clocks work very differently from pendulum and ordinary clocks. It still contains gears that will count seconds, minutes, and hours and rotate the hands around the dial. But the gears are driven by a small quartz crystal instead of a swinging pendulum or a moving balance wheel. Gravity plays no role in its functioning, so any quartz watch will show the watch the same when at sea or when climbing Mount Everest.
You can find quartz on many stones and even in sand. Therefore, it shouldn't surprise us that quartz watches are produced frequently. Another important point is that quartz has piezoelectric property. We can explain this feature as follows: If you take a quartz stone in your hand and squeeze it, it generates a tiny amount of electricity. This adds value to its own value thanks to its ability to generate electric current. Of course, its feature doesn't just end there. If you give electric current to the quartz stone, it has the property to vibrate at perfect frequency. In this way, it vibrates every second the same number of times each time. The battery inside the quartz watch conducts electricity to the quartz crystal. In this way, the quartz crystal moves back and forth 32768 times every second. It works to perfection every time.
Quartz Watch Prices
Women Quartz watches vary according to each brand. While some brands especially embrace the digital appearance, some brands value the analog view more. Quartz watch prices also vary just like the models.
